Giulia

(ITA sotto)
My name is Giulia Ranzini, and I research (social) media for a living.
I started writing on this blog around 2012, halfway through my Ph.D. in a remote city in the middle of the Swiss Alps called St Gallen, which I renamed Caprette (tiny goats) because I’m slightly privacy-paranoid because it sounded nice.
Caprette started as a physical place but it soon became a state of mind, to the extent that it followed me through my visiting year in the US, my six months of unemployment back in Italy, and finally here in Amsterdam, where I live.
I’m a social scientist, mostly operating between media sociaology and psychology. Since 2009 I study how people live and interact online, although for the serious stuff I would rather refer you to my serious website. Caprette has everything else. Warning: I curse a fair bit, but it’s mostly in a language you probably don’t speak.
Since 20126, Caprette increasingly becomes bilingual (much as myself).

Dal 2016 Caprette diventa progressivamente bilingue (come me, d’altronde).
